MTV is putting a spin on “The Real World.” The series is returning to San Francisco-set cycle, titled “Real World: Ex-Plosion”, finds seven strangers experiencing a typical season, until they return from a one-day trip to find their exes have moved in. [EW]

‘Teen Wolf’ Renewed For Season 4

MTV has renewed “Teen Wolf” for a fourth season.

The series has been picked up for a season of 12 episodes — with a twist, the network announced Saturday at New York Comic-Con . The twist, which is a weekly talk show, that will  be hosted by Jill Wagner.

The second half of “Teen Wolf’s” season 3 premieres Monday, January 6 at 10/9c, followed by the “Wolf Watch” debut.

MTV Orders A Second Season of ‘Catfish’

“Catfish: The TV Show” has been renewed for a second season, MTV has announced Wednesday.

The show, which is based on the 2010 documentary “Catfish,” follows Nev Schulman and filmmaker Max Joseph as they travel across the country meeting young people who are in romantic relationships online, and documenting their journey as they meet their online boyfriend/girlfriend.

“”Catfish: The TV Show” has truly captured the zeitgeist of the digital dating age,” said Dave Sirulnick, Executive Vice President, MTV Multiplatform. “The show has resonated with our audience by portraying the real life journeys of individuals trying to navigate the highs and lows of online dating -– an experience our viewers can relate to. We are thrilled to bring the show back for a second season, and look forward to the fascinating stories that only Nev and Max can uncover.”

“Catfish: The TV Show” airs on Mon., at 11/10c on MTV.

MTV Drops ‘The Inbetweeners’

The Inbetweeners Cancelled

MTV has cancelled comedy series “The Inbetweeners.”

The series which followed four high school boys (Joey Pollari, Bubba Lewis, Zack Pearlman, Mark L. Young) who belong to the “inbetweeners” social class, will not return for a second season.

“While we won’t be moving forward with another season of “The Inbetweeners,” we enjoyed working with the show’s creators and such a talented, funny cast,” MTV spokesperson said to Deadline.com.

“The Inbetweeners” was based on a British series with the same title.

Charlie & Max Carver Join ‘Teen Wolf’ And More Casting News

Charlie and Max Carver, Adelaide Kane and Felisha Terrell are joining the wolf pack.

According to Deadline, “Desperate Housewives” stars Charlie and Max Carver have booked recurring roles on the MTV original series “Teen Wolf.” The twins will play identical twin alpha werewolves Ethan and Aidan, who are described as “dangerous charmers with brilliant minds.”

Colton Haynes Leaving ‘Teen Wolf’

Adelaide Kane will portray a mysterious young woman named Cora, who has secret ties to Beacon Hills. While, Terrell will play Kali, a ruthless and sexy alpha werewolf who invades the Hills. Kane and Terrell will also appear in recurring roles.

MTV Picks Up ‘Jersey Shore’ Star Talk Show

MTV has green-light another “Jersey Shore” spin-off.

According to Entertainment Weekly, “Jersey Shore‘s” Vinny Guadagnino is getting his own talk show.

The MTV talk show titled “The Show with Vinny” will take place in Vinny’s Staten Island home. A surprise twist. Vinny will conduct the interviews with his Italian family.

The site reports, Celebrity guests will be invited for a meal and “candid conversation, with lots of commentary from his hostess mother Paula, his partying Uncle Nino and others.”

MTV Cancels ABDC After Seven Season

MTV has cancelled “America’s Best Dance Crew.”

After seven seasons, MTV has decided to shut the doors on Randy Jackson’s ” America’s Best Dance Crew.”

MTV said in a statement to Variety. “We are grateful to Randy Jackson and Warner Horizon for having brought our audience seven amazing seasons of dance with “ABDC,” and look forward to more successful and dynamic entertaining collaborations in the future.”

‘Jersey Shore’ Cast to Host Live Benefit For Hurricane Sandy Victims

 

The cast of “Jersey Shore” will air an hour special to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

According to EW, the “Shore” cast is reuniting to host the one-hour live special “Restore The Shore” on MTV to aid Hurricane Sandy victims. The special will air live from MTV’s Times Square Studio on Nov. 15 at 11/10c p.m.

MTV is teaming up with the non-profit organization “Architecture For Humanity,” to encourage viewers to donate to Seaside Heights’ recovery.

Other celebrity guests, who are yet to be announced will join the cast of “Jersey Shore  as they raise money to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Rihanna, Bruno, & Justin Bieber to Perform At Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Kerry Washington & Alicia Keys Among Black Girls Rock Honorees And More!

Get ready for a hot night in December. Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Justin Bieber are schedule to perform later on this year at “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” CBS announced earlier last week.

Rihanna will perform two songs off her upcoming seventh album, including her recent released single, “Diamonds.”

Performers will be joined on stage by Victoria’s Secret Angels Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Candice Swanepoel, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, and Lindsay Ellingson.

“Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” airs December 4, 10/9c on CBS.

  • Julia Roberts is coming to the small screen, sort of. The veteran actress is executive producing a half hour comedy, “The Shrew,” for ABC.”  The comedy only references Williams Shakespeare’s  The Taming of the Shrew in name alone, is about an horrible boss, whose employees try to reign her in.  [THR]
  • “Scandal” star and actress Kerry Washington, singers Alicia Keys and Dionne Warwick, Dr. Hawa Abdi and her daughters and writer Susan L. Taylor will be honored later on this month at this year’s ‘Black Girls Rock” awards ceremony. Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Brandy, and Indie Arie are scheduled to perform during the event. The awards show will air on November 4 on BET, with Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King co-hosting. [BET]
  • “House of Cards” first 13-episode season has a premiere date. The series from director David Fincher (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “The Social Network”), will be available for instant viewing starting Feb. 1, 2013, Netflix announced earlier this week. “House of Cards” is a political drama, based on a BBC miniseries of the same title.
  • Lindsay Lohan’s Elizabeth Taylor biopic for Lifetime, “Liz & Dick,” will premiere on Sunday, November 25, at 9 p.m. ET.
  • MTV announced this week, that  “MTV Movie Awards” will air live Sunday, April 14, 2013.
  • “106 & Park”revealed the new hosts of the urban series which are: Bow Wow, Ms. Mykie, Paigion and Shorty Da Prince. The hosts began hosting Monday.
  • “American Horror Story: Asylum” premieres Wed., Oct. 17 on FX. Peep the new released trailer below.
