Syfy Cancels ‘Being Human’ After Four Seasons

Syfy cancels “Being Human”  after four seasons, the network revealed Tuesday.  The series finale is set to air April 7.

“Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series’ production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work,” the network announced in a statement. “They’ve saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story’s beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora.”

Copper Renewed

BBC first original series “Copper” has been renewed for a second season.

“Copper,” from executive producers Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana, has been picked up for a sophomore season of 13 episodes, that is three more episodes than the first season.

“BBC America’s first original scripted series, “Copper,” has proven to be a perfect fit for the channel,” said BBC Worldwide America GM Perry Simon. “Our viewers have made it our highest-rated series premiere ever and highest-rated drama series ever.”

The first season finale airs this Sunday on BBC America.

  • NFL announced Tuesday that Beyonce will perform during the The Super Bowl’s halftime, which is set for Feb. 3, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

  • TNT has ordered a season of six-episode of a new untitled series from executive producers Frank Darabont (“The Walking Dead”), Michael De Luca (“The Social Network,” “Moneyball”) and Elliot Webb (“Tall Time Tales”). The series which is based on L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City by John Buntin, stars “Walking Dead‘s” Jon Bernthal as an ex-Marine now working as an LAPD cop in an era rampant with police corruption.
  • “America’s Next Top Model” has been renewed for a 20th cycle, which will include male aspiring models.
  • “Shahs of Sunset’s” second season will debut Sunday, Dec. 2 at 10/9c on Bravo.
  • “Being Human’s” third season of 13-episode will premiere on Monday, January 14 at 9/8c, it was announced today.
  • “Psych” seventh season will premiere on Feb. 27 on USA.

‘Lost’ Alum Heads to ‘Person of Interest’ And More Casting News

“Person of Interest” casts another “Lost” alum.

Mark Pellegrino, who played Jacob on the drama series, will guest star on “Person of Interest.”

According to EW, “POI” creator Jonathan Nolan revealed at New York Comic-Con, that Pellegrino will play the head of a publishing empire on the CBS’ drama.

Pellegrino fellow “Lost” vet Michael Emerson, who played Ben Linus on “Lost” stars on the drama series.

“Person of Interest” airs Thursdays on CBS.

In other casting news…

“Supernatural” alumna Samantha Ferris has been tapped to guest-star on The CW’s freshman series “Emily Owens, M.D.” Ferris joins the drama series as the hospital lawyer Marian Erlando. [TVLine]

Kristen Hager, who played Nora, Josh’s girlfriend on “Being Human” has been bumped up to series regular.

Dave Navarro will guest star on “Sons of Anarchy” in a two-episode arc. Navarro will play a member of the Biz Lats gang, who is close to Nero. [EW]

Abbie Cobb and Zachary Ray Sherman will reprise their roles on “90210’s” 100th episode as Emily and Jasper, respectively. [Hollywoodlife]

Hal Holbrook will play neurosurgeon Arvin Wayne on the TNT new series, “Monday Mornings.” [TVLine]

“Suits” star Gina Torres is heading to NBC’s “Hannibal.”Torres will play Laurence Fishburne’s Jack Crawford wife. Torres will juggle this role with her current role on USA’s “Suits.” [TVLine]
