MTV is putting a spin on “The Real World.” The series is returning to San Francisco-set cycle, titled “Real World: Ex-Plosion”, finds seven strangers experiencing a typical season, until they return from a one-day trip to find their exes have moved in. [EW]

CBS orders a pilot of “How I Met Your Mother” spin-off: “How I Met Your Dad.” [TVLine]

NBC orders a pilot of Maya Rudolph’s variety series. [Deadline]

“Friends”alum Mathew Perry is set to guest star on “Cougar Town.”

“Last Comic Standing” is returning to NBC. The eight season is slated to air next summer. [EW]

‘Southland’ Books Anthony Ruivivar & Annie Monroe And More Casting News

“Southland” is adding Anthony Ruivivar and Annie Monroe.

Ruivivar and Monroe have been cast to appear in the drama series upcoming fifth season, according to Deadline.

“Major Crimes'” actor Ruivivar will play Lucero in a recurring role. Lucero is described as “veteran Los Angeles police officer and a Mexican American born and raised in East Los Angeles.”

Meanwhile, Monroe has been booked to play a love interest for Ben McKenzie’s Ben Sherman.

David Zayas to guest star on Fox’s new thriller “The Following.” The “Dexter” star is said to play a former FBI agent and Ryan’s (Kevin Bacon) close friend named Tyson. [Huff Post TV]

“The Practice” alum Steve Harris has joined TNT’s pilot “Legends.” Harris will portray the head of a task force. [Deadline]

Tippi Hedren has been booked to appear on “Cougar Town.” “The Bird” actress will play a Hollywood legend who finds herself in the company of Jules and her father. [TV Guide]

Sam Anderson is joining “Justified.” The “Lost” alum will play a manipulative funeral director in a multi-episode arc on FX’s “Justified.” [TVLine]

Liza Minnelli to Appear on ‘Smash’ And More Casting News

Liza Minnelli has been tapped to guest star on “Smash,” Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment, announced Tuesday.

The icon will guest-star as herself  in the upcoming season of “Smash.” Minnelli will an original song with series regular Christian Borle.

“Liza Minnelli is the essence of a multi-talented, singular show business sensation, particularly for her extraordinary contributions to Broadway,” said Greenblatt. “So what could be more fitting than to have her legendary talent on a show that celebrates a world Liza has dazzled for decades? I had the pleasure of working with Liza when we restored her landmark television special ‘Liza With a Z’ at Showtime, and to see her artistry up close and personal is a thing to behold.”

Minnelli will appear in the episode titled “The Surprise Party,” which is slated to air in Spring 2013.

“Smash” season 2 premieres on Tuesday, February 5 at 10/9c on NBC.

“Fringe’s” Seth Gabel will play a “super-villain modeled after the DC Comics character Vertigo.” The site reports Gabel’s character is “Oliver’s deadliest adversary to date.” [TVLine]

New Kid Joey McIntyre has booked a guest star role on “90210.” McIntyre will guest star as an up-and-coming music manager who has some business with Dixon. [EW]

Michael Bay is stopping by “The Neighbors” as himself on the ABC’s freshman comedy series. [TVLine]

Terrell Owens is guest star as himself on “90210.” [TVLine]

Shirley Jones has been booked to appear on “Cougar Town.” “The Partridge Family” veteran will play Anne, an elderly woman who purchases Grayson’s old house. [TVLine]

English Actor Rob Kazinsky has been as a series regular on “True Blood.” The “EastEnders” alum will play a faerie, and  Sookie’s love interest. [TVLine]

‘Game of Thrones’ Enlists Coldplay’s Drummer And More Casting News

“Game of Thrones” is adding a drummer.

Coldplay’s drummer Will Champion has been cast in the upcoming season of the HBO series, EW reports. Champion will play a drummer in the drama series. 

“Game of Thrones” returns March 31.

Aisha Tyler, the “Talk” star is heading to “Glee” as Jake’s mother. [TVLine]

Daniel Buran has been cast in “Nashville” on a recurring role. The “True Blood” alum will play Cy, the lead singer of a “Bon Jovi-like rock band.” [THR]

Gillian Vigman (“Suburgatory”) will appear on TBS’ “Cougar Town” as Mary, who is a love interest for Bobby (Brian Van Holt). [TVLine]

Jane Seymour has joined “Ben And Kate.” Seymour will play Wendy, BJ’s (Lucy Punch) hot British mom. [TVLine]

Bridget Regan will recur on “Beauty And The Beast,” as Vincent’s (Jay Ryan) fiancée. [TVLine]

“Breaking Bad‘s” actor RJ Mitte will guest star as Nathan’s (Stephen Monroe Taylor) younger brother on CBS’ “Vegas.” [THR]

John Boyd & Dileep Rao Join ‘Touch’ And More Casting News

Fox sophomore drama “Touch,” has added two recurring actors.

“24” alum John Boyd and Inception‘s Dileep Rao have joined the series.

According to THR, Boyd is set to play Kase, a brilliant math and algorithm researcher. Kase is also Calvin’s confidant (Lukas Haas) and college friend. Meanwhile, Rao, will guest star as Vikash Nayar, a wealthy shareholder at Aster Corp.

The recurring actors join Said Taghmaoui, Adam Campbell, Ray Santiago, Lukas Haas, Saxon Sharbino and Greg Ellis for the second season of “Touch.”

“Touch” returns Fri., Oct. 26 at 8/7c p.m. on Fox.

Abby Elliott first post “SNL” gig is CBS comedy “How I Met Your Mother.” Elliott has been booked as crazy Janeane in a multi-episode arc. [EW]

“Lost” alum Tania Raymonde will recur next season on “Switched at Birth.” Raymonde will play Zarra, a street artist who befriends Bay. “Switched at Birth” returns Monday, Sept. 3 at 8/7c on ABC Family. [TV Guide]

Tom Bower (Die Hard 2, The Waltons) has been cast to play Dwight’s great uncle Heinrich in “The Office”‘s spin-off, “The Farm.” Heinrich is described as “charming, greedy and manipulative.” [Deadline]

Miley Cyrus is set to appear in a two-episode arc on “Two and a Half Men.” Miley will play Missy, a love interest for Jake.

Vera Farmiga (The Departed) has been tapped to play Norman Bates’s abusive and complicated mother on A&E new series “Bates Motel.” [EW]

Ali Wentworth will play Tom’s love interest on “Cougar Town.” [TVLine]

Bailey Buntain (Bunheads) will be guest-star on an upcoming episode of  “The Middle.” Buntain has been cast to play Jenna, a freshman Sue chooses to mentor. [EW]

‘Vampire Diaries’ Casts Phoebe Tonkin And More Casting News

Phoebe Tonkin has landed a role on “The Vampire Diaries.”

According to TVGuide, the former “Secret Circle” star will play Hayley, a wild, sexy, and free-spirited friend of Tyler’s (Michael Trevino). Tonkin is set to debut in the forthcoming season’s 3rd episode.

“The Vampire Diaries” premieres Thurs., Oct. 11.

“That ’70s Show” star Wilmer Valderrama will play Sabrina’s mother’s love interest on “Raising Hope.” [EW]

Brooke Lyons will quest-star as Talia Clarke on the upcoming season of “Royal Pains.” Lyons’ character is described as a pharmaceutical rep who occasionally flirts to close the deal. [TVLine]

Busy Philipps (Cougar Town) is set to guest-star as herself on second season of ABC’s comedy series “Don’t Trust the B—- In Apartment 23.” [TVGuide]

Raymond Barry (Justified) will guest-star on the upcoming season of “New Girl.” The actor is set to play Nick…just older. [EW]

Rachael Harris will guest-star as a realtor on the forthcoming season of “Happy Endings.” [TVLine]

Matt Lucas has landed a gig on “Community.” Lucas is will play a history professor at Oxford. [TVLine]

Hi beautiful people! Missed me? Well, a lot happened in our TV world last week, some series were cancelled, some were picked up, while others were picked up for a shorter and last season. First, “Desperate Housewives” series finale airs tonight. Will you watch the final episodes? Vote in the poll below and check out the preview of the last two episodes.

Lifetime order a reality show starring Whitney Houston’s family, “Houston Family Chronicles” according to Huffington. Bobbie Kristina, Cissy, Pat Houston, Pat’s daughter, Rayah, and Gary Houston will be featured in the series. The one-hour reality show is set to premiere sometime in 2012. Will you watch the reality series?

The second season of ‘Suits’ premieres June 14 on USA Network. But first check out the video below for season one recap.

The Renewals:

“Long Island Medium” was picked up for a third season by TLC

“Cougar Town” is moving to TBS! Courtney Cox’s series was picked for a season by the cable network. The fourth season will air early 2013 and consist of 15 episodes.

“Happy Endings” was renewed by ABC for a third season.

“Last Man Standing” was also renewed by ABC.

“Law And Order: SVU” was picked up for a fourteenth season.

HBO renewed its freshman comedies “Veep” and “Girls” for a second season for ten episode orders.

“Two and a Half Men” was renewed for a tenth season.

All Shonda Rhimes series “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice,” and “Scandal” were renewed.

Also renewed by ABC are “Castle,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Body of Proof,” “Apartment 23” “DWTS,” “The Bachelor,” “Shark Tank”and “Revenge.”

“Nikita,” & “Hart Of Dixie” renewed by CW. “Gossip Girl” was also picked up a shorter and last season.

“30 Rock” renewed for a final and short season.

And “Touch,” was renewed For Season 2.

“CSI:Miami” has been cancelled after ten seasons. “Rob” is also cancelled by CBS.

“I Hate My Teenage Daughter,” “Alcatraz,” “The Finder,” and “Breaking In” were  cancelled by FOX earlier this week.

“GCB,” Pam Am,” Missing,” “The River” all cancelled by ABC.

“Ringer,” and “Secret Circle” are not returning to CW.

“Harry’s Law,” “Awake,” “Best Friends Forever,” “Are You There, Chelsea?” “”Bent,” were cancelled by NBC.
