NBC Goes ‘Cuckoo,’ ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Gets Full Season Pickup And More!

The first new series has been cancelled by ABC.  The “Lucky 7” has been cancelled after two episodes.

NBC gets “Cuckoo” for Andy Samberg’s new comedy series. [EW]

Set the date. ABC will televise the wedding of Bachelor Sean Lowe and fiancé Catherine Giudici on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at 8/7c.

“The Originals,” “The Tomorrow People” and “Reign” have each received three additional script orders, from The CW.

PBS will debut “Return to Downton Abbey,” a retrospective look at the past three seasons of the smashing hit drama and a sneak peek at upcoming season, on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 9/8c.

ABC Family renews “The Fosters” for a sophomore season.

Indira Varma Joins Game of Thrones

Indira Varma has joined “Game of Thrones'” upcoming fourth season.

The “Hunted” actress will play Ellaria Sand on the series. Her role is described as “the sexually adventurous paramour of a key new character, Prince Oberyn Martell “The Red Viper” Casts The Red Viper, according to EW.

“Game of Thrones” begins production this month.

“Grey’s Anatomy” has booked Bobby Campo (“Being Human”) and Heather Hemmens (“Hellcats”) to guest-star in its two-hour season 10 premiere, as a firefighter and his cop fiancé. [THR]

Taryn Manning, “Sons of Anarchy” alumna who plays Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett has been promoted to a series regular on Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black.” [Deadline]

“The Bible” actor Diogo Morgado will guest-star as a distinguished and handsome doctor by the name of Dr. Jorge Velez on “Revenge.” [TVLine]

“HIMYM” star has been tapped to reprise her role as Agent Coulson on ABC’s “S.H.I.E.L.D.”  Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Agent Maria Hill on the series premiere. Acting news was revealed during the “S.H.I.E.L.D.’s” panel at Comic-con.

Bradley Whitford Heads to ‘Go On’ And More Casting News

“Go On” is staging a “Studio 60” reunion.

Bradley Whitford will appear in an upcoming episode of “Go On.” Matthew Perry announced the casting, Wednesday via Twitter.

“Working with Bradley Whitford again is so much fun. I mean, I wish we weren’t in a hot tub together, but you can’t ask for everything,” Perry tweeted.

Shane McRae has been tapped to appear on “Chicago Fire” in a recurring role. The “Four Kings” will play Eric Whaley, a high-octane firefighter who has a history with one of the rescuers. [TVLine]

John Stamos and Mark Consuelos are joining “The New Normal.” Stamos is playing a co-worker of Jane, who finds his sexuality being questioned by the foul-mouthed grandma. While, Consuelos will appear as a grip on the “Glee”-style show created by Andrew Rannells’ character, and will find himself as the object of Rocky’s affections. Chloe Bennett has joined the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” cast. Bennett, who recurs on “Nashville” will play Skye, a superhero obsessed, confident woman in “S.H.I.E.L.D.’s” pilot. [THR]

Charlie and Max Carver, Adelaide Kane and Felisha Terrell are joining the wolf pack.

According to Deadline, “Desperate Housewives” stars Charlie and Max Carver have booked recurring roles on the MTV original series “Teen Wolf.” The twins will play identical twin alpha werewolves Ethan and Aidan, who are described as “dangerous charmers with brilliant minds.”

Adelaide Kane will portray a mysterious young woman named Cora, who has secret ties to Beacon Hills. While, Terrell will play Kali, a ruthless and sexy alpha werewolf who invades the Hills. Kane and Terrell will also appear in recurring roles.

According to TV Guide,  Alicia’s baby brother Owen will return to the series when Stockard Channing makes her debut as Alicia’s mum.

Also reprising her role on the drama series is Anika Noni, who played Wendy Scott-Carr. Noni, who recurs on “Private Practice” has been cast of an episode but, TV Guide reports Executive producer Robert King said Noni’s return “could extend to three” episodes.

Katie Couric Kate Couric has revealed who her first guests are for her syndicated talk show “Katie,” which debuts Sept. 10. Katie will chat with Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow, and Aimee Copeland, the 24-year-old Georgia graduate student who lost parts of all her limbs to a rare flesh-eating bacteria this summer.

Tricia Helfer, “Battlestar Galactica” alumna has booked a guest-star role in “Community.” Helfer will play Lauren, a gorgeous superfan of the cult-hit Inspector Spacetime. [TVLine]

Steven Culp, who starred as Bree’s ill-fated husband, Rex in “Desperate Housewives” has landed a recurring role as Dr. Parker on “Grey’s Anatomy.” [Deadline]

ABC has ordered “S.H.I.E.L.D.”‘s pilot from the writer and director of “Avengers.” In the comics, “S.H.I.E.L.D.” revolved around unit director Nick Fury, who recruited Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk and Thor to form a team to stop Thor’s adopted brother Loki. [THR]

“Hotel Hell” has been renewed for a second season. [EW]

ABC has renewed “Wipeout” for a sixth season.

“It’s a Brad, Brad World’ has been renewed for a sophomore season by Bravo.

Syfy’s hit series “Paranormal Witness” has been picked up for a third season. The season of 20-episode will premiere in June 2013.

“T.I. And Tiny: The Family Hustle” returns Mon., Sept. 3 at 9/8c on VH1. For a sneak peek, click here.

Lifetime’s remake of “Steel Magnolias” will premiere on Sunday, October 7 at 9 p.m. ET. The movie reboot stars Queen Latifah stars as M’Lynn, Phylicia Rashad as Clairee, Adepero Oduye as Annelle, Condola Rashad as Shelby, Jill Scott as Truvy and Alfre Woodard as Ouiser. [HUFF POST TV]

Robin Williams and David E. Kelley are reportedly planning Williams’ comeback to the small screen. The movie veteran is said to star in the project that would follow a father and daughter at work together in the advertising world. [THR]

Nigel Lythgoe, the executive producer of “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” is teaming up with MGM Television to create a scripted series based on the 1980 film Fame. The series will follow a group of students on the road to success. The trailer of “Hawaii Five-0” features Doris McGarrett, who is played by Christine Lahti. The guest stars of the upcoming season include T.I., Terrence Howard, Arielle Kebbel, Robbie Amell, Kendall Jenner and Ving Rhames. Hawaii Five-0 returns on Monday, Sept. 24 at 10/9c on CBS.
