ABC Pulls ‘Zero Hour’ From Schedule

ABC Cancels Zero Hour

ABC’s freshman series “Zero Hour” has been canceled.

According to Deadline.com, the series starring  “ER” alumni Anthony Edwards, has been canceled after airing three episodes. The drama series debuted to 6.3 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

Encores of “Shark Tank” will air for the next two weeks at 8/7c p.m., until “Wife Swap” returns on March 21 for a seven-week run and reality series “Wipeout” takes over on May 9.

‘Smash’ Adds Jesse L. Martin And More Casting News

“Rent” alum, Jesse L. Martin is joining “Smash”‘s upcoming season.

The “Law and Order” vet has been cast to play Scott Welker in a recurring role. Welker is an artistic director at a theater company and a potential love interest to Julia, who is played by Debra Messing, THR reports.

Jesse L. Martin joins Jennifer HudsonSean HayesJeremy JordanKrysta Rodriguez, and Sheryl Lee Ralph on the second season of NBC’s musical drama.

“Smash” returns midseason on NBC.

In other casting news…

“Everwood” alum, Tom Amandes will guest star on ABC’s hit drama “Scandal.” Amande will play Governor Reston on the drama’s upcoming season. [THR]

Trisha Rae Stahl is set to recur on Fox’s drama “Glee.” The actress was seen last night during the fourth season premiere as Marley Rose’s mother. [THR]

Annie Potts has been tapped to play Justin Krik’s mother Virginia on “Animal Practice.” Potts’ character is described as “snobbish, racist, and [totally] self absorbed” lady. [TVLine]

Isla Fisher and Terry Crews have joined “Arrested Development” fourth season.has added two new actors to Season 4. Details about their characters are being kept under lock and key. [Zap2it]

Isaiah Mustafa will guest star in “Nikita.” Mustafa is set to play Cyrus, one of the Dirty Thirty ex-Division agents the titular spy and her team. [TV Guide]

Jeffrey Nordling (24) has joined The CW’s new drama “Arrow” as Helena Bertinelli’s Huntress father. [Examiner]

Grace Gummer-Merly Streep’s daughter has joined ABC’s midseason new series “Zero Hour” in a recurring role as FBI Agent Paige Willis. [EW]

Jonathan Banks Heads to ‘Parks & Rec’ And More Casting News

“Breaking Bad” vet Jonathan Banks has landed a guest role on “Parks & Rec.”

Hitfix reports, Banks, who played Mike Ehrmantraut on “Breaking Bad” is joining the NBC comedy as Ben Wyatt’s (Adam Scott) dad Steve.

Also heading to “Parks & Rec” is Glenne Headly. Glenne Headly will be playing Banks’ his ex-wife and Ben’s mom, Julia, according to TV Guide. Julia is “a warm and charming woman who appreciates art and literature, but who also has a bit of a dark side when provoked.

Headly and Banks are set to appear in the sixth episode of the upcoming season.

“Parks & Rec” premieres on Thurs., Sept. 20 at 9:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Jean-Ralphio is returning to Pawnee! Ben Schwartz, who plays Jean-Ralphio will appear in “Parks & Recreation” for at least one episode of Season 5. [THR]

Emma Bell (The Walking Dead) has been cast as Emma on TNT’s hit drama “Dallas.”‘ Emma is rumored to be Ann Ewing’s (Brenda Strong) estranged daughter. Bell’s character is described as a beautiful privileged woman who “was raised by her grandmother to be poised, graceful, and slightly aloof, while her father has ingrained in her a distrust of the larger world.” [TVLine]

Ryan Hansen has landed a potential recurring role on ‘2 Broke Girls.” The “Veronica Mars” alum will play Caroline’s love interest. [TVLine]

“The Good Wife” and “Political Animals” star Dylan Baker is joining “Zero Hour.” The actor will play FBI Section Chief Terrence Fisk, the supervisor of Carmen Ejogo’s character, Becca Sunjata. [TV Guide]

ABC’s 2012-2013 Primetime Schedule: ‘Revenge’ Moves To ‘Desperate Housewives,’ Time Slot And More.

Sundays just got hotter! ABC released it upcoming 2012-2013 schedule earlier today. The news? ‘Revenge’ is heading to Sundays, while ‘Happy Endings’ and ‘Apartment 23’ are moving to Tuesdays.

“Revenge” will replace “Desperate Housewives” on Sundays starting this fall. Also moving to a new night is “Last Man Standing.” The renewed comedy will move to Friday starting November. While “Private Practice” remains on Tuesdays.

Also ABC is continuing its Thursday drama block with Shonda Rhimes’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and a intense new series “Last Resort.”

“How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life),” “The Family Tools,” “The Bachelor,” “Body Of Proof,” “Wife Swap,” “Red Widow,” “Zero Hour,” and “Mistresses” will all premiere in midseason.

Meanwhile, the following new series debut this fall, “Last Resort,” “The Neighbors,” “Nashville,” “Malibu Country,” and “666 Avenue Park.”
