‘The X Factor’ Cancelled After Three Seasons

The verdict is in: FOX cancels “The X Factor.”

Fox has cancelled the low ratings-reality series singing competition, “X Factor,” after three seasons.

“To all of us at Fox, Simon is more than one of the most prolific TV personalities of our time –he’s part of our family. A consummate showman and partner, there’s no one more passionate or creative than Simon, and we feel so fortunate to have enjoyed such a wonderful, collaborative relationship with him over the past 12 years,” said Kevin Reilly, chairman of entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Co. “Unfortunately, there is no ‘X Factor USA’ without Simon Cowell, but we understand and support his decision to focus on the international formats and on the next phase of his personal life. We wish him the very best, and it’s our sincere hope that we work together again soon.”

Executive producer, Simon Cowell also announced, he would return to the UK version of the series.  “I’ve had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on “The X Factor” and “American Idol,”” said executive producer and judge Simon Cowell in a statement. “And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!). Last year, for a number of reasons, I had to make a decision to return [for the first time in four years] to the U.K. version of The X Factor in 2014. So for now, I’m back to the U.K. and I want to thank FOX for being an incredible partner and I also want to thank everybody who has supported my shows. America, I’ll see you soon!”

Britney Spears Leaving ‘The X Factor’

Britney Spears The X Factor

Oops! She did it again. Britney Spears is leaving “The X Factor” after one season.

“ I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Fellow judge and executive producer Simon Cowell has two seats to fill since L.A. Reid and Britney Spears have decided to leave the reality series.

During Fox TCA winter press tour, network entertainment president Kevin Reilly said he’d gladly welcome the pop singer back for season 3.

“I think Britney did a really good job. People remain fascinated with her and always will… Maybe people were waiting for more drastic displays that never came. But pound for pound, I thought “The X Factor” was excellent this year. She tucked in really nicely on that bench.”

L.A. Reid Exits ‘The X Factor’

L.A. Reid is leaving “The X Factor.”

The music mogul informed  Access Hollywood, he will not return to the judges’ panel on “The X Factor” next season.

“I have decided that I will not return to “The X Factor” next year,” Reid told Access Hollywood. “I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected and it saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit.“

However, the chairman and CEO of Epic Records added he could return to the series in the future. “I’m not ruling ever coming back. I have a job to do and once I get some work done and get some momentum then maybe I’ll revisit the idea a little later.”

When questioned who should replace him on the judging panel, Reid answered Jon Bon Jovi. “That’s who I would pick.”

“I couldn’t be happier about “The X Factor” already being renewed for another season,” Cowell added in a statement. “I am so proud of the show and the team who have made it this season. I want to thank our incredible sponsors for their support and creativity, and FOX for going out of their way to do everything they can to make this show a success. Most importantly, I have to personally thank our amazing fans for the support and enthusiasm they have given to “The X Factor.” Our main commitment will always be to find great talent, and let’s not forget, we are now days away from our first live shows. The gloves are off! Expect fireworks!”
