VH1 to Re-Air ‘Happy Endings,’ Comedy Central Renews ‘Tosh.O’ For Three More Seasons And More

ABC cancelled comedy series “Happy Endings” is heading to VH1. VH1 has picked up all 57 episodes and will air the episodes on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. Then the series moves to Wednesdays beginning Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

NBC will re-air the musical, “The Sound of Music Live” on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 8/7c p.m.

Comedy Central renews ‘Tosh.O” for three more season. [Time]

“Portlandia” season 4 will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 27 on IFC, with guest appearance by Vanessa Bayer, Kirsten Dunst, Maya Rudolph, Olivia Wilde, Steve Buscemi and, Kyle MacLachlan.

Divorce Court has been renewed through 2015 by Fox TV Stations.

TV Weekly News: Micheal J. Fox Returns to NBC, ABC Family Picks Up Jennifer Lopez’s New Series And More.

Micheal J. Fox is returning to NBC after three decades.

The TV veteran will star in an untitled new series where Fox is a husband and father of three dealing with family, career, and challenges (including Parkinson). The new series is loosely based on the “Family Ties” alum’s life.

NBC has ordered 22 episodes of the new series.

  • The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air live on NBC on Sunday, January 13, 2013.
  • VH1 has renewed Single Ladies for a third season, which will debut late 2013.
  • Utah’s station KSL-TV will not air Ryan Murphy new comedy series “The New Normal.” The series follows a gay couple who tries to have a baby via a surrogate. [EW]
  • P!nk, Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys will be featured in the 17th season of “VH1 Storytellers.” The new season bows out this November. [VH1]
  • Good news “Arrested Development” fans! “Arrested Development” which will be aired on Netflix is set to debut next spring. Additionally, the fourth season is schedule to debut more than ten episodes. [EW]
  • “The Killing” may not be dead after all.  The series which was cancelled by AMC network last month may be picked up by Netflix or DirecTV for a third season. [TVLine]
  • ABC Family has picked up a new series called “The Fosters” -a working title -from executive producer Jennifer Lopez. The drama series is about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms. Will you watch this series? [ABC Family]
  • Syfy is working on remaking a UK sci-fi series “Blake’s 7.” The series followed renegades and criminals who escape from a prison planet and became heroes. [EW]
  • Jon Glaser has joined “Parks and Recreation” season 5 as a town councilman and Leslie’s nemesis. [TVLine]

  • HBO has given the green light to “Family Tree,” an eight-episode documentary-style comedy from filmmaker Christopher Guest. The series centers on a jobless and single man (played by “Bridesmaids” Chris O’Dowd) who begins exploring his heritage after receiving a strange box from a great-aunt. “Family Tree” is set to air simultaneously on the U.K.’s BBC 2. [EW]
  • AMC has renewed its hit reality show “The Pitch” for a second season.
  • T.I.’s Wife, Tiny will host VH1’s first late night talk show called “Tiny Tonight.” The late night talk show will feature Tiny and her friends as they discuss what is happening in the World.   • It seems “The Voice” is changing the gears up a bit. According to Huff Post TV, the coaches – Levine, Shelton, Lo, and Aguilera – can “steal” contestant from each other during a “knockout round.” We are just wondering if “The Voice” got the idea for CBS’ reality series “Big Brother.” “The Voice” bows out Sept. 10 on NBC.
  • THR reports, “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” has fired 20 employees, however it is unclear why the employees were laid off and who were laid off. The Hollywood Reporter also reports Jay Leno who reportedly makes $30 million annually, took a pay cut as well.

VH1 Pulls the Plug on ‘Ev and Ocho’

VH1 is pulling reality series “Ev and Ocho” from its schedule. Shocker!

The reality series starring NFL player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and his wife Evelyn Lozada was expected to follow the married couple as they make their wedding preparations and highlight their big day.

However, VH1 has reconsidered plans to air the series following allegations of domestic violence. The network said in a statement, “Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series “Ev and Ocho” from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”

Chad was arrested Saturday in a domestic violence dispute, after allegedly head-butting Evelyn during an argument. Following the arrest, Chad was dropped from the Miami Dolphins.

The reality series was schedule to premiere Sept. 3 on VH1.

MTV Renews ‘Snooki and JWoww’

MTV, BET and VH1 took the stage today at the TCA summer press tour. Many reality and non-reality shows renewals and premiere dates were announced at the press tour.

David Janollari, Head of MTV Programming revealed “Jersey Shore”‘s spin-off “Snooki and JWoww” and “Money from Strangers” have been renewed for a second season. “Jersey Shore” sixth season will air Thursday, October 4 at 10 p.m. ET.

Other highlights of the press tour are:

MTV’s original series “The Inbetweeners” is set to debut on Monday, August 20 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

New series “Underemployed” will debut on Tuesday, October 16 at 10 p.m. ET.In addition, documentary-series “Catfish: The TV Show” will premiere on Monday, November 12 at 10 p.m. ET.

BET’s late-night series “Don’t Sleep” with T.J. Holmes will launch Monday, Oct. 11 p.m. ET.

“Ev And Ocho,” the “Basketball Wives” spin-off will follow Evelyn and her fiance, Chad as they prepare to tie the knot. The show premieres on Labor Day, September 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET on Vh1.

“T.I. And Tiny: The Family Hustle” season two will also premiere on Labor Day at 9 p.m. ET.

“Basketball Wives L.A.” also a “Basketball Wives” spin-off will return on Monday September 10 at 8 p.m. ET.

“Best Week Ever” will return to TV after a three-year hiatus. The “refreshed and slightly tweaked” series will begin in January 2013.

The eldest daughter played by Alexandra Krosney on “Last Man Standing” has been bumped down/let go for “creative reasons,” according to [TVLine]

Bryan Cranston will host the Television Critics Association Awards TVGuide announced. The non-televised award show will take place on Saturday, July 28 in Los Angeles.

Nick Offerman and Kerry Washington will announce the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy nominations on Thursday, July 19 at 8:40/7:40c a.m. The Emmys will air live Sunday, Sept. 23 on ABC. [TVLine]

Nicole Scherzinger will join the judges on the U.K. edition of “The X Factor.” The former Pussycat Doll along with Paula Abdul and Steve Jones, the host were axed from the U.S. edition of the singing competition. The axed U.S. judges have been replaced by Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. [CNN]

Oprah sits down with the Kardashian clan on Sunday. “Oprah’s Next Chapter” featuring the Kardashians airs Sun., June 17 at 8  ET on OWN. Watch the promo below:

The dismissals continue at ABC network.

 

However, Shonda Rhimes has nothing to do with these dismissals. The actors fired starred in ABC’s “Body of Proof.” According to TVLine, John Carroll Lynch, who played police detective Bud Morris since the pilot of the show tweeted “I can confirm that BOP did not pick up my option.”

Meanwhile, original cast members Sonja Sohn, who played Detective Sam Baker, and Nicholas Bishop, who played investigator Peter Dunlop, will not return for a third season.

CW released the premiere dates of its summer shows earlier this week.

First, “Remodeled” starring modeling industry icon Paul Fisher, returns on Monday, July 9 at 10/9c p.m. and “The L.A. Complex” season 2 premieres on Tuesday, July 17 at 9/8c p.m.

“Oh Sit!,” is  hosted by Jamie Kennedy and Jessi Cruickshank, will challenge 12 thrill-seekers to go head-to-head in a musical chairs competition that features five physically demanding obstacle-course-style eliminations. The show debuts Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 8/7c p.m.

“The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep,” formerly titled “The Star Next Door” is set to debut Thurs., Aug. 16 at 9/8c p.m. The singing competition  will document a nationwide search for undiscovered artists on the verge of stardom. The celebrity mentors include Joe Jonas, Nelly, Gloria Estefan, and John Rich.

Lastly, “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition” will debut its 19th cycle on Friday, Aug. 24 at 8/7c p.m. Tyra Banks and Kelly Cutrone, will return for the upcoming season, but with new judges Rob Evans and Johnny Wujek who have replaced J. Alexander and Nigel Barker, and mentor Jay Manuel. The new element, viewers now have a say on who stays and who goes. Visit CWTV.com to cast your vote.

It has been the talk for months. But now it is official. “Breaking Bad” last season will be split. The first eight episodes of the season will air this summer, July 15 while the remaining eight episodes will air next summer. AMC’s “Breaking Bad” fifth and final is set to premiere July 15 at 10/9c p.m.

“Rules Of Engagement” was picked up for a seventh season last week. The comedy was renewed for a season of 13 episodes. No premiere date has been announced yet, but the comedy seventh season is set to debut in midseason.

The cancellation:

“Dog The Bounty Hunter” was cancelled earlier this week. The A&E has cancelled it long-running reality series.

Weekly TV News: Fox’s Anniversary Special, USA, & “RHOA”.

Hello sweet readers!

Fox turned 25 this month and to celebrate the network is airing a two-hour 25th Anniversary Special hosted by Ryan Seacrest. The Anniversary Special kicks off tomorrow April 22 at 8/7 p.m. on Fox. It’s slated to feature stars from “Ally McBeal,” “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Married With Children,” “American Idol,” “24,” “That ’70s Show,” “In Living Color,” “The X-Flies” and of course “The Simpsons”.

More Fox’s news. George Lopez will host Fox’s new dating series, “Take Me Out”. Lopez will play matchmaker to thirty women and men contestants. The show premieres Thursday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET.

In other TV news, there is one less cab in NYC. Discovery cancelled it trivia show “Cash Cab” while, TLC’s “My Crazy Obsession” will return for a second season.

Juicy news!

Martha Stewart, whose daily talk show, “The Martha Stewart Show” was cancelled by Hallmark in January is heading to PBS. Stewart announced Thursday PBS will air her new program “Martha Stewart”s Cooking School”. The weekly 30 minutes program will air in the fall.

Sheree Whitfield won’t be returning to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the reality star announced she wants to focus more on empowering and inspiring women. “RHOA” just wrapped up its fourth season last week.

Meanwhile, Big Ang, Raiola the break-out star on “Mob Wives” is getting her own spin-off reality series. The series called “Big Ang” joins “Mob Wives Chicago” as “Mob Wives” growing franchise. The reality series will include ten episodes premiering in the summer. Will you watch “Big Ang?”

“Damages” fifth and last season premieres Jul., 11 9 p.m. ET exclusively on DIRECTV.

More summer premiere news, USA networks revealed it premiere dates from its summer line-up. “White Collar” and “Covet Affairs” return July 10. “Royal Pains” and “Necessary Roughness” return June 6 while “Burn Notice” and “Suits” premiere June 14.

Lastly, Perez Hilton will guest star on “Glee”! The blogger will guest star as a judge at Nationals.

Weekly TV News: ‘Tough Love New Orleans,’ ‘NYC 22’ & ‘Parks and Recreation.’

Steve Ward is back with a new season of “Tough Love”. The season premieres Sun., April 15 9 p.m. EST on Vh1, with a cast of ‘phonies, gold diggers, and virgins.’ The show returns in New Orleans. Click here for a sneak peek.

Also premiering Sunday is “NYC 22”. From the executive producers Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal comes “NYC 22”. The show follows six rookies as they patrol the streets of Upper Manhattan. The series kicks off April 15 on Cbs at 10/9 p.m. EST. Below is the trailer, check it out.

Mark your calendars TV gleeks! Showtime announced it summer schedule “Web Therapy” and “The Real L Word.” Web Therapy” is set to premiere Monday, July 2 at 11 p.m. ET and “The Real L Word” premieres on Thursday, July 12 at 11 p.m. on Showtime.

Good news “30 Rock” fans! The Nbc series goes live Thurs., April 26 at 8:30 p.m. EST and three hours later at 11:30 p.m. PT.
