TV Land Reveals ‘Hot in Cleveland’ and ‘Soul Man’ Live Premieres

Hot In Cleveland Renewed for Season 5

TV Land sets “Hot in Cleveland” and The Soul Man” live season premieres.

The network has announced an hour-long live event for its comedies series “Hot in Cleveland” and “The Soul Man.” The comedies will broadcast live season premieres back-to-back on March 26, with “Hot in Cleveland” live broadcast debut as 10 p.m. ET and “The Soul Man” at 10:30 p.m. ET. The West Coast will get live-to-tape versions starting at 10 p.m. PT.

“The thrill of knowing that viewers at home are seeing exactly what’s happening live on stage really amps up the pressure and makes the energy on set electrifying,” said TV Land President Larry W. Jones in a statement.

TV Land Orders Season 3 of ‘Soul Man’

“The Soul Man” will return for a third season.

TV Land announced Wednesday, the sitcom starring Cedric “The Entertainer” and Niecy Nash, has been picked up for a third season of eight episodes. The forthcoming season is slated to premiere in spring 2014.

“We’re so proud to have this show in our portfolio of sitcoms,” Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land, said in a statement. “Fans of ‘The Soul Man’ are the drivers behind the success of the series. Because of their passion, we are able to continuously bring new viewers to the channel.”

The ladies of “Hot In Cleveland” will be back for a fifth season!

The comedy series which stars Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Betty White has been renewed for a fifth season of 24 episodes.

“This is an incredible milestone for the show and for TV Land,” said TV Land president Larry W. Jones. “To have our first scripted sitcom make it to the syndication level is a huge accomplishment. We have a brilliant creative team both in front of and behind the camera. We are so proud to be on this exciting ride with them.”

New episodes of the second half of the fourth season return June 19. The fifth season is expected to start shooting in the fall.

“Hot in Cleveland” spin-off “The Soul Man” has been renewed for a second season.

The comedy series star Cedric the Entertainer announced the second season pick up via Twitter.

“Just got word #TheSoulMan has been picked up for season #2,” Cedric the Entertainer tweeted on Tuesday. “Thank all of you who wrote in and/or just watched me @niecynash bout to Turn Up!”

Cedric’s co-star Niecy Nash also tweeted “GM! Thank u for all ur well wishes for #TheSoulMan pick up! We appreciate ur support!”

Cedric the Entertainer stars as Reverend Boyce “The Voice” Ballentine, a R&B music superstar-turned-minister who moves his wife Lolli (Nicey Nash) and daughter Lyric (Jazz Raycole ) to St. Louis.

Additionally Deadline reports, TV Land has ordered 1o more episodes of “The Exes” second season.

The ladies of Cleveland are back, with a baby.

Jay Harrington has joined the comedy series in multi-episode arc as Alec, Melanie’s  love interest and boss. 

“It’s awkward, but charming, because Melanie and I hit it off immediately,” Harrington tells TV Guide.

The “Better Off Ted” star will be joined by Heather LocklearEddie Cibrian, Pat Harrington Jr. and Alan Dale as guest stars in the forthcoming season.

According to the promos below, Regis Philbin is still around playing Elka’s love interest, Melanie got employed, Victoria is still self-centered as always, and Joy, well watch the promos.

“Hot in Cleveland” premieres November 28 at 10/9c on TV Land.

 

Kevin Sussman Becomes A Series Regular on ‘Big Bang Theory’ And More Casting News

Kevin Sussman has been upped as a series regular on “The Big bang Theory.”

According to Deadline, Sussman, who has recurred as Stuart, the owner of the Marvel-lite comic book shop, since season 2 joins Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayar, Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik as a series regular.

“The Big Bang Theory” premieres on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8/7c on CBS.

What’s hot tonight??!

Hi guys! Guess what’s back??! Yes, you guessed right. It is Modern Family and Revenge! Modern Family airs at 8 pm central while Revenge airs at 9 pm on ABC. There are some other hot comedy shows on tonight. They are Hot in Cleveland and The Exes, the both air on Wednesday on TV LAND.

Hot in Cleveland is a comedy sitcom about three best friends (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick) whose lives change forever when their plane headed to Paris makes an emergency stop at Cleveland. They decide to live together in Cleveland with a sassy caretaker (Betty White.) Hot in Cleveland airs at 9C on TV LAND.

The Exes is a new sitcom that revolves around three divorced men, (Donald Faison, Wayne Knight and David Basche) who live in an apartment across their divorce lawyer’s (Kelly Stables) apartment.  The show airs at 9:30C.
