TV Weekly News: ‘Treme’ Renewed? The Obamas on ‘The View’ And More!

It was announced last night that, “Treme” which premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on HBO has be renewed for a fourth and final season according to series creators David Simon. The show creator reports the last season will be shorter, but the premiere date or the number of episodes ordered have not be revealed. [Nola]

Regis Philbin is back on daytime TV with a monthly gig on Rachael Ray, titular show. “I’m just a guy showing up on her show once a month,” the former Live! host tells USA Today. “It’s fun to be back on TV when you don’t have to do it every day.”

Maksim Chmerkovskiy announced Wednesday, he will be leaving “Dancing With the Stars” after 15 seasons. Will you miss him? [Hollywood Life]

Amanda Tapping has been cast to recur as Naomi, who is described as a “cool and mysterious, part of a new group of angels we’ve never seen before” in “Supernatural”s forthcoming season. Anastasia Griffith who recurred on “Once Upon A Time” has booked a guest star role on Cinemax’s “Banshee.” Griffith will play a prison psychiatrist who treats Lucas, he main character of the new series. [TVLine]

“Tosh.O’ has been renewed for a fifth season of 30 episodes by Comedy Central. [EW]

FX has renewed its late-night series “Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell” for a second season which debuts October 11 at 11:30 pm.

“Love & Hip Hop”‘s spinoff Chrissy & Mr. Jones premieres tomorrow on VH1 at 9:30/8:30c. Watch the promo below.

Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham Getting Her Own Spinoff

Farrah Abraham, star of MTV’s “16 & Pregnant” and “Teen Mom” will continue to stay on your TV.

The “Teen Mom” is said to be  signing her own her reality show. Abraham told Us Weekly “I’m just closing it, It’s gonna be just about me and my life.”

Although little is know about the reality show. Will you watch the show?

Weekly TV News: ‘Smash,’ ‘Mad Men’ & ‘Leave It to Niecy.’

NBC’s musical drama “Smash” will return next year. The Broadway musical was picked up Thursday for a second season. “Smash” joins “Grimm” which was renewed last week.

Finally, we know the future of “Jersey Shore.” The show was renewed for another season. The cast of “Jersey Shore” will begin filming season six this summer. “The Pauly D Project” one of “Jersey Shore” spin-offs premiere Thursday, March 29 at 10:30 p.m. EST.

More MTV news, the fourth season of “Teen Mom” will be the last season for the original cast -Maci, Amber, Catelynn and Farrah.

It is rumored the Jonas Brothers are the next family to join the reality series network, E! The brothers are reportedly filming the reality series in New York.

Actress/Comedienne Niecy Nash’s family reality series, “Leave It to Niecy” premieres Sun, 10 ET on TLC.

Weekly TV News: ‘Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp,’ ‘Touch,’ & ‘American Horror Story.’

Hi guys! Lifetime picked up Bristol Palin’s reality series. “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” will consist of ten episodes. “Life’s a Tripp,” will show how Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol Palin adjusts to life in Alaska while raising her son, Tripp alone. This show is already on TV, it’s called “Teen Mom.”

Mark your calendars people! Kiefer Sutherland’s new drama “Touch” is moving to Thursday nights. The show will air right after “American Idol” beginning March 22 at 9 p.m. EST. This means “Bones” will air on Mondays starting April 2 at 8 p.m., while “House” finishes its run at a later time at 9 p.m. EST.

“Q’Viva! The Chosen” a show by Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and executive producer, Simon Fuller premieres tonight on FOX at 7 p.m. The reality show follows Jennifer Lopez and Jamie King as they travel to 20 countries in search of the best Latin performers.
