NBC Fires Donald Trump Regarding Derogatory Comments About Immigration

“You are fired,” NBC says to Donald Trump.

Regarding Trump’s offensive comments about illegal immigrants from Mexico during his Presidential announcement speech.

They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

NBC responded to Trump’s disrespectful comments on Monday,

“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values. Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump. In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in “The Apprentice” on NBC.

The Peacock network will no longer air the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants. Since “Celebrity Apprentice” is licensed from Mark Burnett’s United Artists Media Group, the reality show will continue to air without the hopeful President candidate.

‘Aquarius’ Renewed for Season 2

NBC orders a second season of “Aquarius.”

The Peacock network announced Thursday, the crime drama series “Aquarius” will be back for a sophomore season. The David Duchovny starring series was the first to follow Netflix’s roots by releasing all episodes online immediately following the premiere episode.

“With its riveting drama and innovative release strategy, ‘Aquarius’ has excited the critics, hooked millions of viewers and energized our summer,” said NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke. “It’s no secret that the way people watch television is evolving,” she said in a statement. “So we took a unique approach to how we delivered “Aquarius” and it’s driven some record numbers for NBC Digital and helped us reach viewers who might have otherwise overlooked a great summer drama.”

‘Hannibal’ Canceled by NBC

NBC has cancelled “Hannibal.”

The peacock revealed Monday, the series has been cancelled after three seasons. The series is currently airing its third and final season.

“NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers,” Fuller said in a statement. “[NBC president] Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure.
“Hannibal” is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer,” Fuller added, “but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”

NBC also released a statement:

“We have been tremendously proud of ‘Hannibal’ over its three seasons,” the network announced in a statement. “Bryan and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable. We thank Gaumont and everyone involved in the show for their tireless efforts that have made ‘Hannibal’ an incredible experience for audiences around the world.”

The drama series will wrap up its season 3 run by late August. “Hannibal” airs 10/9c on NBC.

‘Saturday Night Live:’ Taraji P. Henson & Michael Keaton to Host

 

Fan favorite Cookie from “Empire” is heading to Studio 8H.

Taraji P. Henson, the “Empire” actress will take hosting reigns on April 11 with second-time musical guest Mumford & Sons, “Saturday Night Live” announced Thursday. The installation will mark Henson’s debut on “SNL.”

Michael Keaton heads to SNL

Also making her “SNL” debut is Carly Rae Jepsen. The singer will her musical guest debut on the April 4th, with “Birdman” Michael Keaton returning as a third time host.

‘American Horror Story’ Alumni Joins ‘Hannibal’

Zachary Qunito joins HannibalZachary Quinto joins Hannibal’s upcoming season.

The “American Horror Story” veteran and “The Slap” star will appear in an episode of the upcoming season of “Hannibal, according to TV Line.

Quinto is expected to play a patient of Gillian Anderson’s , Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier.

“Hannibal” season 3 debuts on Thursday, June 4 at 10/9c.

The Peacock network revealed its 2014 all lineup earlier today.

The second season premiere of NBC’s “The Blacklist” debuts Mon., Set 22 following the season premiere of “The Voice.” “The Voice” later moves to its regular time slot on Tues., Oct 14.

Meanwhile, new series “Constantine” doesn’t bow out until October 24, following “Grimm” season debut.

CeeLo Green Not Returning to ‘The Voice’

Cee-Lo Green exists “The Voice.”

“The Voice” coach announced Wednesday, he will not return to the reality-competition singing show.

“I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC. I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year,” revealed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “But yeah, I’m going to miss “The Voice,” too. I’m not coming back, guys.”

Green added: “I’m not coming back at all, I just don’t want to wear out my welcome there, you know what I’m saying? I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.”

NBC Pulls ‘The Michael J. Fox Show’ From Schedule

The Michael J. Fox Show - Season Pilot

“The Michael J. Fox Show” has been cancelled.

NBC has pulled the freshman comedy series starring Michael J. Fox and “Breaking Bad” alum Betsy Brandt from its schedule. The series will be replaced by “Hollywood Game Night” on Thursdays.

“Hollywood Game Night” debuts its second season on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 9/8c.

 

Golden Globes: 72nd Annual Date Announced

Tina and Amy will be back next January.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the 72nd annual Golden Globes on Jan. 11, 2015.

“We are delighted to have Tina and Amy back. They create an environment where anything can happen in a room full of the world’s biggest stars,” Allen Shapiro, executive producer of the awards, said in a statement.

The 2015 awards will be broadcasted live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, and air on NBC.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Renewed, Alison Sweeney to Leave Soap Series

NBC renews “Days of Our Lives.” The Soap series has been renewed for two years — through Sept. 2016, NBC revealed Wednesday.

“”Days of Our Lives” continues to be a fan favorite for the daytime audience and we are thrilled to keep it going through its 50th season,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a statement. “Days has shown year-to-year increases in key female demographics and remains both relevant and fresh creatively due to the hard work of the producers, writers, cast and crew who have worked tirelessly to make Days the ratings success it is today.”

Alison-Sweeney to leave days of our time

More “Days of Our Lives” news, Alison Sweeney, who has played Sami Brady for 21 years is leaving the daytime soap.

Sweeney announced her decision on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” saying: ”I’m celebrating my 21st year … and I decided that it’s going to be my last year with the show,” she says. “I have worked so much, and my daughter just turned 5 and my son is 9, and I just want to be with them.”

“The Biggest Loser” host is expected to leave the series at the end of the season.
