It was announced last night that, “Treme” which premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on HBO has be renewed for a fourth and final season according to series creators David Simon. The show creator reports the last season will be shorter, but the premiere date or the number of episodes ordered have not be revealed. [Nola]

FX has renewed its late-night series “Totally Biased With W. Kamau Bell” for a second season which debuts October 11 at 11:30 pm.

Sean Hayes Gets ‘Smash’ed And More Casting News

Sean Hayes will guest-star on NBC’ s musical drama “Smash.” The “Will & Grace” veteran will appear as Terrence Falls in a multi-episode arc of the upcoming season, NBC reports.

‘Smash’ Casts ‘Newsies’ Star

Falls is described as “a comedic television and film star who is making his Broadway debut in the musical Liaisons, based on the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses.  Due to a series of comic circumstances, he becomes a major thorn in the side for Ivy Lynn (Megan Hilty) and other characters.”

Jennifer Hudson Joins ‘Smash’.

Hayes will also appear on NBC’s “Up All Night” as Ava’s former accompanist.

Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter, Michael Bolton will appear in the season opener of “Two and a Half Men.” [EW]

‘New Girl’ Adds Anna Maria Horsford and Nelson Franklin And More Casting News.

“New Girl” has cast Anna Maria Horsford and Nelson Franklin.

According to TVLine, “New Girl” has added Anna Maria Horsford as Charmaine Bishop, Winston’s tough-as-nails mom who raised her children to become professional basketball players.

In addition, TVGuide reports CeCe is getting a new boyfriend, Robby. Robby is played Nelson Franklin, “Traffic Light” alum, is a genuinely good person, but a bad dancer who is deaf in one ear.

Season 2 of “New Girl” premieres on Tues., Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Alice Evans to Appear in ‘Grimm’ and More Casting News

A “Vampire Diaries” witch is heading to “Grimm.”

Alice Evans will appear in an episode of NBC’s “Grimm.” The former “Vampire Diaries” actress is set to play Mia, EW reports. Evans’ character had “ongoing relationship” with Capt. Renard.

“Grimm” returns on Aug. 13.

Polly Walker will recur in “The Mentalist” as a senior, strong FBI agent. Walker is set to debut during the season premiere. [TVLine]

Penelope Ann Miller (Men of a Certain Age) is joining ‘Mistresses.’ Miller will recur as Sam’s (Erik Stocklin) mother, whose late husband had an affair with Yunjin Kim’s character. The drama is set to debut midseason. [EW

Jason Beghe (Californication) has joined the cast of NBC’s upcoming drama ‘Chicago Fire.’ Beghe will recur as Detective Hank Voight, a dangerous cop who will do anything to protect his delinquent son. [THR]

“Til Death” vet, Kat Foster has joined “The Goodwin Games” as a series regular. Foster will play Lucinda, a childhood sweetheart of one of the Goodwin boys. [TVLine]

Cee-Lo Green’s adviser for “The Voice” forthcoming season is Rob Thomas. Thomas is the frontman of the band Matchbox Twenty. Thomas joins previously announced advisers: Mary J. Blige (team Adam), and crooner Michael Buble (team Blake). Christan Aguilera’s adviser is yet to be announced.

‘Revenge,’ ‘The Voice,’ & ‘Mistresses’ Casting Scoop

Emily Throne a.k.a Amanda Clarke is in store for a blast from the past.

TVLine reports, Barry Sloane has been cast to recur on the ABC hit drama. The British actor will play Ethan, “a mystery man with ties to Emily’s past.”

“Revenge” premiere date is yet to be announced.

In other casting news…

NBC has revealed an adviser of the third forthcoming season of “The Voice.” Michael Bublé will team up with Blake Shelton when the singing competition returns. (Sept. 10) NBC has yet to reveal advisers for the series’ three remaining coaches: Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green.

Shannyn Sossamon has joined ABC’s “Mistresses” for a multi-ep arc, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sossamon will play Alex, a lesbian couple who becomes a client of Josslyn (Jess Macallan). “Mistresses” stars Alyssa Milano, Yunkin Kim, Rochelle Aytes and Jes Macallan.

ABC’s 2012-2013 Primetime Schedule: ‘Revenge’ Moves To ‘Desperate Housewives,’ Time Slot And More.

Sundays just got hotter! ABC released it upcoming 2012-2013 schedule earlier today. The news? ‘Revenge’ is heading to Sundays, while ‘Happy Endings’ and ‘Apartment 23’ are moving to Tuesdays.

“Revenge” will replace “Desperate Housewives” on Sundays starting this fall. Also moving to a new night is “Last Man Standing.” The renewed comedy will move to Friday starting November. While “Private Practice” remains on Tuesdays.

Also ABC is continuing its Thursday drama block with Shonda Rhimes’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and a intense new series “Last Resort.”

“How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life),” “The Family Tools,” “The Bachelor,” “Body Of Proof,” “Wife Swap,” “Red Widow,” “Zero Hour,” and “Mistresses” will all premiere in midseason.
