Fall TV: NBC Sets Premiere Dates For ‘Blacklist,’ ‘Voice’ and More

The Voice

The Peacock network revealed its 2014 all lineup earlier today.

The second season premiere of NBC’s “The Blacklist” debuts Mon., Set 22 following the season premiere of “The Voice.” “The Voice” later moves to its regular time slot on Tues., Oct 14.

Meanwhile, new series “Constantine” doesn’t bow out until October 24, following “Grimm” season debut.

Dann Florek Leaving ‘Law & Order: SVU’

Dann Florek is leaving “Law & Order: SVU” after 15 seasons.

Florek, who plays Captain Donald Cragen, on the NBC drama series is leaving this season. 

Florek announced his departure via Twitter, “Friday was the last day 4 Cragen/Florek. It was a sweet send off! But he’ll live on in syndication land 4 evah!” 

Florek’s last portrayal of Cragen will air in January.

Florek joins Chris Meloni, who exited the series in 2011 and Richard Belzer , who left “SVU” this year.

“The Voice’ returns with the original coaches: Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton on September 23, followed by the series debut of NBC new series “The Blacklist,” which stars James Spader.

Matt Damon Heads to ‘House of Lies’ And More Casting News

Matt Damon is heading to “House of Lies.”

The Promise Land actor will play himself in an episode on the Showtime series, Showtime Entertainment president David Nevins announced Saturday at the TCA winter press tour.

Damon will seek the help of Marty (Cheadle) and his team in setting up a charitable organization to compete with George Clooney.

“House of Lies” season 2 premieres Sun. Jan., 13 on Showtime.

“All My Children” vet Jesse McCartney has been tapped to recur in the forthcoming season of “Army Wives.” McCartney has been cast to play Private Tim Truman, enthusiastic young soldier and husband to Elle McLemore’s Holly Truman. [THR]

Rob Kazinsky Joins ‘True Blood’

According to Deadline, Robert Patrick has been promoted to a series regular on the drama series. Patrick played Alcide’s (Joe Manganiello) father on HBO’s vampire series “True Blood.”

The “X Flies” vet recently starred on ABC’s ill-fated “Last Resort.”

“Brooklyn Decker is heading to “The League.” Decker has been cast to play Gina Gibiatti, Frank “The Body” Gibiatti’s (Ike Barinholtz) younger sister. Gina was also a “mean girl” in high school. [EW]

Justin Bruening is heading to Seattle Grace.

The “Ringer” alum has been cast to play a paramedic in a recurring role on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” according to TVLine.

Bruening is set to appear late January or early February on the series.

“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.

“The Wire” alum, Chad Coleman will play Tyreese on the drama series, according to TVLine. In the comics Tyreese was Rick’s second in command following Shane’s death.

The site reports, Coleman is rumored to appear in the ongoing season’s eight episode.

“The Walking Dead” airs Sundays on AMC.

Amanda Setton (“Gossip Girl”) who plays Shauna on “The Mindy Project” is leaving the series. Meanwhile, Anna Camp, who plays Mindy’s best friend, Gwen on the series has been moved from a series regular to a recurring. [TVLine]

Showrunner Ryan Murphy tweeted the news yesterday saying: “Proud to announce Nicole Richie and the legendary George Takei are joining “The New Normal family.””

According to EW, Takei and Richie will be portraying themselves on the comedy series.

“The New Normal” airs Tuesdays, at 8:30c on NBC.

It was announced last night that, “Treme” which premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on HBO has be renewed for a fourth and final season according to series creators David Simon. The show creator reports the last season will be shorter, but the premiere date or the number of episodes ordered have not be revealed. [Nola]

“New Girl” has cast Anna Maria Horsford and Nelson Franklin.

According to TVLine, “New Girl” has added Anna Maria Horsford as Charmaine Bishop, Winston’s tough-as-nails mom who raised her children to become professional basketball players.

In addition, TVGuide reports CeCe is getting a new boyfriend, Robby. Robby is played Nelson Franklin, “Traffic Light” alum, is a genuinely good person, but a bad dancer who is deaf in one ear.

Season 2 of “New Girl” premieres on Tues., Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
