‘Hawaii Five-0’ Promotes Chi McBride to Series Regular

“Hawaii Five-0” promotes Chi McBride to a series regular.

Chi McBride, who plays SWAT Captain Lou Grover on “Hawaii Five-0,” has signed on as a series regular, CBS announced Thursday.

“After his first guest spot, we knew we had something special here with Chi playing Captain Lou Grover,”  Executive Producer Peter Lenkov says in a statement. “He just fit seamlessly into the fabric of ‘Hawaii Five-0′ and viewers are enjoying the spirited, if sometimes antagonistic, interaction between him and [Alex O’Loughlin’s Steve] McGarrett. We are so thrilled to welcome Chi into our Ohana.”

“Hawaii Five-0″ airs at 9 p.m. Fridays on CBS.

Melanie Griffith is heading to “Hawaii Five-0.”

The actress, who appear in “Hot in Cleveland” and “Nip/Tuck” will play Danny’s mother on the crime series. Griffith will appear in an upcoming episode of “Hawaii Five-0’s” fourth season.

CBS announced the casting news via Twitter.

“Hawaii Five-0” returns on Sept. 27.

“Revenge” casts Victoria’s estranged son.

Justin Hartley, who starred on the ill-fated “Emily Owens M.D.” and “Supernatural” has been cast as Patrick, the son Victoria gave up for an Art education in France, E Online.

Hartley’s has been booked for a multi-episode arc, and his role is set to debut in the series season 3 premiere.

“Revenge” returns this fall.

CBS 2013 fall schedule is kicking off on Sept. 18 with the 27th edition of reality series “Survivor.”

The America’s #1 network will premiere nearly most of its returning and new programs during the official premiere week.

“The 65th Primetime Emmy® Awards” is set to air live on Sunday, Sept. 22, while the final season of “How I Met Your Mother” debuts with a special one-hour Episode on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8/7c.

New series “Mom” and “Hostages” premiere Monday, Sept. 23, with “The Millers” and “The Crazy Ones” debuting on Thursday, Sept. 26, while “We Are Men” Debuts Monday, Sept. 30.

“Awkward” adds “The Breakfast Club” and “Sixteen Candles” alum.

Anthony Michael Hall will appear on “Awkward’s” upcoming third season for a multi-episode arc. Hall will play Mr. Hart, “a sadistic creative writing teacher that pushes the students out of their comfort zones,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

Additionally, “Glee” newbie Nolan Funk will portray Collin James, a confident new prep school transfer to Palos Hills. Funk will appear in a multi-episode arc.

Seth Rogen has been tapped to appear on “The Mindy Project.” The Guilt Trip actor will play Sam, Mindy’s teenage love interest.

Rap artiste Rick Ross has been cast to play “Butterball,” in STARZ’s “Magic City.” “Butterball” is described as the proprietor of an illegal Cuban/American gambling house in Miami known as a “bolita.”

Adam Shapiro, who is Katie Lowes’ real life husband has been cast to appear on “Scandal.” Shapiro will play Lindsay’s doomed boyfriend Jesse, who was killed years ago by a bomb Lindsay was accused of mailing.  [TVLine]

Terry O’Quinn is set to return to “Hawaii Five-0” as the mysterious Joe White and “McG has a LOT of questions” for him. [Twitter]

According to TVLine, Kevin Dunn has been cast in a recurring role in the HBO’s comedy series. Dunn will play the president’s new chief of staff, Ben.

Last month, the comedy series received an Emmy for best lead actress in a comedy series.

Patrick Fischler And Tony Denison to Appear on ‘Castle’ And More Casting News

“Lost” vet Patrick Fischler and Tony Denison “The Closer” alum will guest star on “Castle.”

The duo will appear in “Castle’s” mob episode, which is expected on Nov.19. Fischler will play Leo Conrad, a witness to a murder who Castle and Beckett protect from a 
team of ruthless gangsters.

Meanwhile, Denison has been cast to play an enforcer involved with the McElroy family named Mickey Dolan.

“Castle” airs Mondays on ABC.

The paid cable network announced today, “The West Wing” alum will appear in multi-episode arc on “Shameless’s” upcoming season.

Whitford will star as Abraham, “a powerful, well-dressed, sophisticated gay man who is a political activist.”

“Shameless” third season premieres Sun., Jan. 13.

“The View” co-host, and movie veteran Whoopi Goldberg has been cast in the seventh episode of “666 Park Avenue.” Goldberg will guest star as Drake’s longtime resident who uses hypnosis to help Jane understand the building’s supernatural nature. [EW]

Lisa Edelstein has been tapped to guest star on CBS’ “Elementary.” The “House” alum will appear on the seventh episode of the Sherlock drama as Heather Vanowen, the confident and charismatic CEO of a high-end PR consultancy, TVLine reports. Additionally, Callie Thorne, who stars on “Necessary Roughness,” has been to guest star as Terry D’Amico Gregson’s former partner, on the series. Katie Couric Kate Couric has revealed who her first guests are for her syndicated talk show “Katie,” which debuts Sept. 10. Katie will chat with Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow, and Aimee Copeland, the 24-year-old Georgia graduate student who lost parts of all her limbs to a rare flesh-eating bacteria this summer.

ABC has renewed “Wipeout” for a sixth season.

“It’s a Brad, Brad World’ has been renewed for a sophomore season by Bravo.

Syfy’s hit series “Paranormal Witness” has been picked up for a third season. The season of 20-episode will premiere in June 2013.

Big names are coming to “Hawaii Five-0.”

Rapper T.I. joins previously announced Terrence Howard and Kendall Jenner as a guest star in the forthcoming season of “Hawaii Five-0.”

TVLine reports, the rapper is set to play a crime offender who appears via flashback in an Oct. episode.

Additionally, Arielle Kebbel (90210) and Robbie Amell (Revenge) have been booked to guest star in the CBS drama. According to TVLine, Kebbel and Amell are set to portray a couple who pays a fortune-teller a visit and faces “devastating consequences.”

“Hawaii Five-0” returns Mon., Sept 24 on CBS.

In other casting news…

Tessa Ferrer has been cast to recur in “Grey’s Anatomy.” Little is known about the actress’ character, but we are guessing Ferrer will intern at the another hospital. [TVLine]
