‘True Blood’ Star Heads to ‘How I Met Your Mother’ And More Casting News

“True Blood”‘s wolf will return to “How I Met Your Mother.”

TVLine reports, Joe Manganiello will reprise his role as Brad, Marshall’s law school companion on the hit comedy series.

Manganiello joins previously announced Michael Trucco and Ashley Williams for a multi-episode arc on the upcoming season of “How I Met Your Mother.”

The comedy series continues Mon., Sept. 24.

Derek Webster (Harry’s Law) has joined “Revolution” in a recurring role as Nicholas. Nicholas is a strong rebel leader who faces off against Miles (Billy Burke).  [EW]

Jake Lacy (Better With You) is joining “The Office”‘s upcoming ninth season as a series regular.

Gregg Henry (Hung) will play Jackson, a wealthy Southerner on ABC hit drama “Scandal.” Jillian Armenante (Judging Amy) is also joining the series as Lucas, a smart, well-spoken woman. [Deadine]

“Up All Night” has cast Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) as a guest star in a multi-episode arc as Ava’s former accompanist. NBC

Jay Karnes is headed to “Last Resort.” Karnes is set to play Secretary of Defense in the ABC drama series. [EW]

“American Horror Story” has cast Franka Potente for a two-episode arc. Potente will play a mysterious patient of the facility. [TVLine]

Laura Innes (ER) vet will guest-star in “Warehouse 13” as Emma Jinks, a woman who has been estranged from her son Steve for two years. [Huff Post TV]

Heather Locklear is joining “Hot in Cleveland.” Locklear will play Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli)’s boss in a multiple episodes arc. [TVLine]

Hi beautiful people! Missed me? Well, a lot happened in our TV world last week, some series were cancelled, some were picked up, while others were picked up for a shorter and last season. First, “Desperate Housewives” series finale airs tonight. Will you watch the final episodes? Vote in the poll below and check out the preview of the last two episodes.

Lifetime order a reality show starring Whitney Houston’s family, “Houston Family Chronicles” according to Huffington. Bobbie Kristina, Cissy, Pat Houston, Pat’s daughter, Rayah, and Gary Houston will be featured in the series. The one-hour reality show is set to premiere sometime in 2012. Will you watch the reality series?

The second season of ‘Suits’ premieres June 14 on USA Network. But first check out the video below for season one recap.

The Renewals:

“Long Island Medium” was picked up for a third season by TLC

“Cougar Town” is moving to TBS! Courtney Cox’s series was picked for a season by the cable network. The fourth season will air early 2013 and consist of 15 episodes.

“Happy Endings” was renewed by ABC for a third season.

“Last Man Standing” was also renewed by ABC.

“Law And Order: SVU” was picked up for a fourteenth season.

HBO renewed its freshman comedies “Veep” and “Girls” for a second season for ten episode orders.

“Two and a Half Men” was renewed for a tenth season.

All Shonda Rhimes series “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice,” and “Scandal” were renewed.

Also renewed by ABC are “Castle,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Body of Proof,” “Apartment 23” “DWTS,” “The Bachelor,” “Shark Tank”and “Revenge.”

“Nikita,” & “Hart Of Dixie” renewed by CW. “Gossip Girl” was also picked up a shorter and last season.

“30 Rock” renewed for a final and short season.

And “Touch,” was renewed For Season 2.

“CSI:Miami” has been cancelled after ten seasons. “Rob” is also cancelled by CBS.

“I Hate My Teenage Daughter,” “Alcatraz,” “The Finder,” and “Breaking In” were  cancelled by FOX earlier this week.

“GCB,” Pam Am,” Missing,” “The River” all cancelled by ABC.

“Ringer,” and “Secret Circle” are not returning to CW.

“Harry’s Law,” “Awake,” “Best Friends Forever,” “Are You There, Chelsea?” “”Bent,” were cancelled by NBC.

Weekly TV News: ‘Terra Nova,’ ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter,’ & ‘All-American Muslim.’

Hi guys. A lot happened in our TV world this week; some shows got cancelled while new shows got picked up.

After a great deal of talk, “Terra Nova” has been cancelled. But FOX will shop the series to other networks. Although, it seems Netflix is interested in picking up the series. I’ll let you know how this goes.

The other show cancelled this week was TLC’s “All-American Muslim.” Some of the cast were told the decision was based on ratings.  The show will not return for a second season. Are you sad to see these shows cancelled? Will you watch “Terra Nova” on Netflix?

More TV news, Oprah  interviews Bobbi Kristina, Whitney Houston’s daughter in a special episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” The interview will air Sun, March 11 at 9 p.m. ET on OWN. Oprah will also interview Gary Houston, Whitney’s brother and Patricia Houston, Whitney’s manager/sister-in-law. Here a sneak peek. Will you watch the interview?

“Missing” premieres Thursday, Mar. 15 at 8/7c on ABC. “The Finder,” “Bones” spin-off  moves to Fridays at 8 p.m. starting April on FOX. “Mob Wives” has a spin-off in the works. The spin-off, “Mob Wives Chicago” will premiere this Spring on VH1. For more information about the reality series visit Huffpost. FX has renewed “Justified” for a fourth season; the season will air 13 episodes. Contrary to rumors, Tim Tebow is not the next Bachelor for the ABC reality series, “The Bachelor.” Tim tweeted, “Haha rumors can be crazy! Even though I’ve watched the show before, I’m definitely not gonna be on the ‘Bachelor.'” Tonight Jonah Hill hosts “SNL” for a second time with musical guest, The Shins. Here is the promo…

…lastly “Harry’s Law” returns Sun. March 11 at 8/7c.

In other TV news, “America’s Got Talent” premieres with two-hour episodes on May 14 &15. The show will debut its new judge, Howard Stern. While “The Voice” season two two-hour finale will air live Tuesday, May 8 on NBC. “Fashion Star” also premiering on NBC debuts Tuesday, March 13 at 9:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, a couple of “singing competitions” are in the works. First, CW picked up “Star Next Door” which will be produced by Queen Latifah. The celebrities mentors are country singer & songwriter, John Rich and singer, Gloria Estefan. The series premieres this summer.

Also premiering during the summer is ABC’s “Duets.” Kelly Clarkson, Lionel Richie, Robin Thicke, and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland are the mentors and singing partners of “Duets.” These four superstars will scout America for talents., eventually picking two talents each. The mentors and their two performers will perform in front of a studio audience each week. The winner wins a recording contract with Hollywood Records.
