‘Fringe’: Series Finale Date Announced

Fringe final episode airdate announced

Mark your calendars, “Fringe” fans!

Fox announced today, the series will conclude on: Friday, Jan.18. The series will end with a two-hour series finale at 8/7c, with an episode marking the series’ 100th episode.

Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company said in a statement: “Fringe” has truly imagined the impossibilities over its five seasons and will go down in the books as one of FOX’s most riveting and creatively brilliant series. It has been a blast to work with J.J., Joel and their masterful creative teams, as well as with Anna, Josh and John and the rest of the most talented cast and crew in the business.”

“Fringe” airs Fridays at 9/8c on Fox.

‘Veep’ Books Kevin Dunn And More Casting News

“Veep” has cast a “Luck”ly vet.

According to TVLine, Kevin Dunn has been cast in a recurring role in the HBO’s comedy series. Dunn will play the president’s new chief of staff, Ben.

Last month, the comedy series received an Emmy for best lead actress in a comedy series.

Kevin Dunn TV credit include “7th Heaven,” “Lost” and “Samantha Who?”

“Star Trek” alum George Takei will guest star as Chin’s uncle in an upcoming episode on “Hawaii Five-0.” [TV Guide]

Alysia Reiner (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”) has been tapped to recur in “Orange is the New Black.” Reiner will will play the penitentiary’s assistant warden in the Netflix series. [TVLine]

“Knots Landing” alums Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark will reunite on “Dallas.” The duo will reprise their roles as Gary and Valene on “Dallas” in a three-episode arc. [TV Guide]

“Fringe” vet Kevin Corrigan has been cast to guest star on “Men At Work.” Corrigan will play Darryl, a rock-loving wedding guest who changes Milo’s night in a big way. [TV Guide]

Patrick Fischler And Tony Denison to Appear on ‘Castle’ And More Casting News

“Lost” vet Patrick Fischler and Tony Denison “The Closer” alum will guest star on “Castle.”

The duo will appear in “Castle’s” mob episode, which is expected on Nov.19. Fischler will play Leo Conrad, a witness to a murder who Castle and Beckett protect from a 
team of ruthless gangsters.

Meanwhile, Denison has been cast to play an enforcer involved with the McElroy family named Mickey Dolan.

“Castle” airs Mondays on ABC.

Marissa Jaret Winokur is heading to “Guys With Kids.” Winokur will play Lydia Allmendinger, the head of the co-op board where Chris, Nick and Gary live. [TV Guide]

Rutger Hauer has joined “True Blood” as a series regular. Hauer will appear on the series as a mysterious and sinister man named Macklyn linked to Sookie and Jason. [TVLine]

Melanie Lynskey will reprise her role as Rose for a two-episode arc on “Two And A Half Men.” Rose will set her sights on Walden Schmidt. [EW]

Vanessa Marcil (“General Hospital”) has been booked to guest star in an forthcoming episode of “Hawaii Five-0.” Marcil will play a therapist McGarrett suspects is involved in a murder case. [TVLine]

“Rent” alumna Daphne Rubin-Vega will play a Broadway publicist on “Smash.” [EW]

Grammy-winning singer Jill Scott will appear on “Fringe” as Simone, an “incredibly intuitive woman,”who Olivia seeks aid from. [EW]

‘Fringe’ Final Season Promo: Etta

“They are coming.”

Fox released a new promo of “Fringe” titled “Etta,” which is also the fifth season premiere title. In the teaser below, Peter and Olivia are seen rushing to collect Etta in a park as the observers arrive marching their way.

The upcoming season of “Fringe” is going to pick up where season 4 finale left off. Although production hasn’t officially started yet, below is a trailer of season 5. Take a look.

Fall Scoop: Fox Reveals Its Premiere Dates

 

Fox fall will debut with “The X Factor” in Sept. The singing competition, which premieres with new judges (Britney Spears and Demi Lovato) kick things off with a two night premiere on Sept 12. The second night premiere airs Sept 13 followed by the a new episode of “Glee,” which returns on a new night and time, Thurs., 9/8c p.m.

“New Girl” starts off Tuesday’s comedy block with a special episode. Leading in new series “Ben and Kate,” and “The Mindy Project.” While, “Raising Hope” premieres a week later. Kiefer Sutherland’s new drama, “Touch” rounds off the schedule with a late second season premiere.

This fall’s schedule keeps getting better and better. FOX is the next network to announce its fall/spring primetime lineup, and the second network to shake things up.

The shocker? “Glee” moves to Thursdays following “X Factor” (Fall) and “American Idol” (midseason). “Touch,” drama series starring Keifer Sutherland also moves to a new night, Fridays. Will you watch “Glee” and “Touch” on their new night?

Two new dramas “The Following” and “The Mob Doctor”, and three new comedies “The Mindy Project,” “Ben And Kate,” “The Goodwin Games” will premiere on FOX this fall/spring. “The Mindy Project,” “Ben And Kate,” “The Mob Doctor,” all debut this fall. While “The Following” ”The Goodwin Games” premiere in midseason.

“Beginning this fall is FOX starts its Tuesdays comedy block with, “The Mindy Project,” “Ben And Kate,” “Raising Hope,” and  “New Girl.”
