‘Falling Skies’ Renewed For Final Season

TNT renews three drama series, including “Falling Skies.”

In addition, freshman drama series “The Last Call” has been picked up for second season of 13 episodes. And “Major Crimes” has been renewed for a fourth season of 15 episodes.

Meanwhile, the sci-fi, series “Falling Skies,” has been renewed for a fifth and final season of ten episodes.

“TNT’s refreshed and recharged drama brand is soaring this summer, and that is due in large part to these three enormously popular dramas,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT. “”The Last Ship” has become this summer’s top drama among key adult demos with its epic scale and visceral storytelling. “Major Crimes” continues to be one of the most enduring and popular crime-drama franchises on television. And “Falling Skies” has begun an ambitious and thrilling story arc this summer as it sets the stage for next year’s climactic final season.”

‘The Following’ Casts ‘Boss’ Actress And More Casting News

Connie Nielsen Joins The Following

Connie Nielsen joins “The Following” as a series regular.

According to TVLine, the “Boss” alumna is set to play Lily Grey.

Grey is described as a SoHo art dealer who goes to Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) for help, which leads to more trouble for her.

“The Following” is set to air in 2014.

Angela Kinsey, “The Office” alumna will guest star as Rose, a snobby teacher on “New Girl.” [TVGuide]

Mark Sheppard (“Supernatural”) will reprise his role as an art forger on the upcoming season of “White Collar” in a major arc. [HuffPost TV]

“Falling Skies'” actor Doug Jones has been cast on “Teen Wolf.” Jones will play Barrow, a “known killer” in an upcoming episode of the series. [TVLine]

“Workaholics” Adam DeVine has been booked to recur on “Modern Family.” DeVine will play Manny and new baby Joe’s nanny on the comedy series. [EW]

TNT Renews ‘Falling Skies’ For Season 4

The sic-fi series “Falling Skies” will be back next summer.

“Falling Skies,” which has been averaging 5.8 million viewers this season, will return for a ten-episode fourth season next summer, TNT announced Tuesday.

The series stars Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton and Drew Roy.

“Falling Skies” airs Sundays at 10/9 p.m. on TNT.

TNT’s “Falling Skies” returns this summer with some unanswered questions.

According to Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive preview, the third season of the alien-drama series will answer the questions and more. Head over to EW to watch the preview.

“Warehouse 13” returns Monday, April 29 at 10/9c p.m. on Syfy. Click here to watch the trailer of the ten remaining episodes.

Nestor Carbonell And Mike Vogel Join ‘Bates Motel And More Casting News

Nestor Carbonell and Mike Vogel have joined A&E’s upcoming series “Bates Motel.”

“Lost” alum Carbonell, who played a FBI agent on The CW’s short-lived “Ringer” has joined “Bates Motel” in a recurring role. Carbonell will play Sheriff Royce Romero.

Meanwhile,”Pan Am’s” handsome pilot Vogel will play Deputy Zach Shelby, an intelligent sociopath.

The duo join the growing cast of Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Max Thieriot, Nicola Peltz and Olivia Cooke.

Ellen Greene (“Pushing Daisies”) is set to recur as Mrs. Komeda, a novelist and member of Boston’s cultural elite in NBC’s “Hannibal.” [TVLine]

Stephen Collins (“7th Heaven”) has been cast as “Falling Skies” pre-alien president.  Collins will play Benjamin Hathaway and will appear in the fourth episode of the upcoming third season. [TV Guide]

First Look: Colin O’Donoghue As ‘OUAT’s’ Captain Hook

Colin O’Donoghue has been bumped up to a series regular on “Once Upon A Time.” O’Donoghue plays Captain Hook on the series. [EW]

Pamela Adlon (“Californicatiom”) has joined “Parenthood” in a two-episode arc. Adlon has been tapped to play Marlana, a rude woman who moves into the building next to the Braverman brothers’ music studio. [TVLine]

Eric Edelstein and Maile Flanagan have been cast on Showtime’s “Shameless.” Edelstein has been tapped to play Bobby Mallison, a seemingly polite manager of a grocery store who makes absurd demands of his female employees. While, Flanagan will play Connie, a Mid-Western co-worker at a company where Fiona works. [Deadline]

Doug Jones & ‘ER’ Alums Join ‘Falling Skies’ And More Casting News

“Falling Skies” season 3 doesn’t premiere until 2013 below are some interesting casting news.

According to EW, Doug Jones has been tapped to play the new humanized alien who was introduced at the second season finale of “Falling Skies.”

Also joining the cast of TNT’s Sci-fi drama are “ER” alums Gloria Reuben and Robert Sean Leonard.  Deadline reports, Leonard will portray Roger Kadar, PhD, a genius also know as “The Rat King.” Kadar runs Charleston’s power grid and lives underground with his pet rats.

Meanwhile, Gloria Reuben will play an intelligent woman with “political knowledge and experience [that] could prove extremely helpful to Tom.”

Both actors will recur in a five-episode arc of “Falling Skies”‘s upcoming season.

Maulik Pancholy, who starred as Neal on “Whitney” will reprise his role as Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) assistant Jonathan on NBC comedy series “30 Rock.” [TV Guide]

Mädchen Amick will guest-star in The CW new series “Beauty and Beast.” The “Twin Peaks” vet will play Lois, a wealthy polo-club president. [TVLine]

Denise Richards has been cast as Gwen in “90210”‘s 100th episode. Gwen is described as a “sexy West Beverly High School Alum turned wealthy socialite.” [EW]

“Tank Girl” vet Tori Petty will cross paths with Fiona and Steve as Valerie in Showtime’s “Shameless.” [TV Guide]

The Campaign star, Thomas Middleditch has been cast as Jeb, Dwight’s younger brother on “The Office, TVLine reports. In addition, Matt Jones has been tapped to play Dwight’s mysterious cousin Zeke. [THR]

‘The Office’ to End After Nine Seasons

“The West Wing” alum, Timothy Busfield has landed a guest role on Fox’s new crime drama, “The Mob Doctor.” Busfield is set to guest star as John Ellis, s a dirty congressman. Joining the TV vet in a guest role is “Friday Night Lights” alum Jurnee Smollett. She will play a pregnant prostitute. [TV Guide]

“Men at Work” has tapped Maz Jobrani (Better Off Ted) to appear as an owner of a Lebanese chicken restaurant who becomes Gibbs’ friend. [TVLine]

Brooklyn Silzer is set to Lucy, Danny and Lindsay’s daughter on “CSI: NY.” Twins Nadia and Talia Hartounian previously played Lucy. [TV Guide]

TNT Orders a Third Season of ‘Falling Skies’

The Skitters will be back for a third season.

The critically acclaimed drama which stars Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Colin Cunningham and Sarah Carter, has been renewed for a season of  10 episodes. The third season is slated to air in 2013.

“Falling Skies is television storytelling at its very best, a powerful drama that’s told on both an epic scale and on a deeply personal level,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “With all the memorable and surprising moments taking place during the second season of Falling Skies, we can’t wait to see what DreamWorks Television and Falling Skies‘ terrific production team and cast members have in store for season three.”

“Falling Skies” renewal comes in the wake of previously renewed “Rizzoli & Isles” and ‘Dallas.’

The series currently airs Sundays at 9 p.m ET on TNT.

The eldest daughter played by Alexandra Krosney on “Last Man Standing” has been bumped down/let go for “creative reasons,” according to [TVLine]

Bryan Cranston will host the Television Critics Association Awards TVGuide announced. The non-televised award show will take place on Saturday, July 28 in Los Angeles.

Nick Offerman and Kerry Washington will announce the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy nominations on Thursday, July 19 at 8:40/7:40c a.m. The Emmys will air live Sunday, Sept. 23 on ABC. [TVLine]

Nicole Scherzinger will join the judges on the U.K. edition of “The X Factor.” The former Pussycat Doll along with Paula Abdul and Steve Jones, the host were axed from the U.S. edition of the singing competition. The axed U.S. judges have been replaced by Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. [CNN]
