Things are going to get more Awkward. MTV  has picked up additional 10 episodes of “Awkward’s” season 4, which has yet to begin production.

‘CSI: NY’ Alum Joins ‘Covert Affairs’ And More Casting News

Hill Harper joins covert affairs

“CSI: NY” star Hill Harper is heading to “Covert Affairs.”

The crime-procedural actor has been cast in the drama series as a series regular, according to The  Hollywood Reporter.

Harper will play an “ambitious, intelligent and slightly cocky,” CIA station chief in Latin America, who will be looking to make the transition from the CIA’s Latin America station back to Washington.

Harper’s character will try to enlist the help of Annie and Auggie to help him accomplish that goal.

According to TVLine, Harper will not continue with “CSI: NY” if the series get renewed for a Season 10.

“Covert Affairs” returns this summer.

Jack Bauer and Renee Walker are reuniting on “Touch.”

“Dallas” Casts Annie Wersching in a recurring role.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Annie Wersching has been tapped to guest star as Dr. Kate Gordon. Wersching’s role is described as a smart and caring family therapist, who specializes in early childhood trauma and behavioral issues.

Wersching portrayed Jack Bauer’s lover interest FBI Agent Renee Walker, on Fox’s “24.”

James D’Arcy has been cast in A&E’ pilot “Those Who Kill.” D’Arcy joins Chloe Sevigny, who has been cast as Detective Catherine. The project is about a detective (Sevigny) and forensic profiler (D’Arcy) who both possess a deep understanding of the serial killers they chase. [Deadline]

Elizabeth Pena (“Rush Hour”) has been cast to play Pilar, Gloria’s mother in “Modern Family.” Also joining the comedy series is Stephanie Beatriz as Sofia, Gloria’s sister. Pena and Beatriz are set to appear in this season’s 12th episode. [TVLine]

Glen Hansard will guest star as himself in a forthcoming episode of “Parenthood.” Hansard will play himself on the drama series. [EW]

Wayne Brady and Caroline Rhea will guest-star on the second season of “Baby Daddy.” Comedian Brady will play a talk-show host named Chase Baxter in the second episode of the forthcoming season. Meanwhile, Rhea will portray Riley’s mother. [TV Guide]

According to TV Guide,  Alicia’s baby brother Owen will return to the series when Stockard Channing makes her debut as Alicia’s mum.

Also reprising her role on the drama series is Anika Noni, who played Wendy Scott-Carr. Noni, who recurs on “Private Practice” has been cast of an episode but, TV Guide reports Executive producer Robert King said Noni’s return “could extend to three” episodes.

“Rescue Me” vet  Adam Ferrera is joining “Nurse Jackie” in a recurring role as a love interest for Jackie. Ferrera will play an NYPD officer and is set to recur throughout Season 5. [TVLine]

“Guys With Kids” nabs Erine Hudson. The “Ghostbusters” vet will play Marney’s (Tempestt Bledsoe) dad on the comedy series. [TV Guide]

Annie Wersching will recur on “Dallas.” The “24” alum actress will recur as an “ambitious and sexy transportation commissioner” with a  possible love interest for John Ross on the soap. [TVLine]

“ER” alum Ming-Na has been booked in ABC’s “S.H.I.E.L.D.” She will play Agent Melinda May, a damaged, but soulful solider who is an ace flier and weapons expert. [Deadline]

Michael J. Fox & T.R. Knight to Appear on ‘Good Wife’ And More Casting News

Michael J. Fox is heading to Lockhart/Gardner again.

According to TVLine, the actor will reprise his role as Louis Canning — the head of Lockhart/Gardner’s rival law firm — on “The Good Wife.” Fox is set to appear on the series’ eleventh episode, which is set to air in January 2013.

Also heading to the law firm is “Grey’s Anatomy’s” T.R. Knight.

Knight, who played Dr. George O’Malley on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” has been cast to guest-star as a political operative on the drama series, EW reports.

Kuno Becker is heading to “Dallas.” Becker will play Andres, Elena’s (Jordana Brewster) troubled brother. [TV Guide]

Betsy Brandt, “Breaking Bad” star has been cast to guest star on “Parenthood” for an episode. Brandt will guest star on “Parenthood” as the ex-wife of Ray Romano’s Hank Rizzoli. [TV Guide]

According to TVLine, Kevin Dunn has been cast in a recurring role in the HBO’s comedy series. Dunn will play the president’s new chief of staff, Ben.

Last month, the comedy series received an Emmy for best lead actress in a comedy series.

According to TVLine, Judith Light will recur as an “authoritative and controlling battle-ax who will fight to the death to protect the people she loves.” The “Who’s The Boss?” star recently guest starred on “The Exes” and recurs on “Law & Order: SVU.”

“Dallas” second season premieres on January 28, 2013 at 9 p.m. ET.

TNT Announces ‘Dallas,’ ‘Southland,’ Premiere Dates, Sets Two Series Premieres

J.R.’s hairy eyebrows will return for a second season sooner than you think.

Earlier today, TNT announced its winter lineup and premiere dates of returning and new series.

TNT’s hit drama, “Dallas” will return Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. ET, for a 2-hour second season premiere. Meanwhile, “Southland” returns to the streets of LA, for its fifth season debut on Feb. 13 at 10 p.m. ET.

While, “Rizzoli & Isles” and “Leverage” will continue their season on Nov. 27.

Whereas, new series “Monday Mornings,” a new medical drama produced by David E. Kelley and based on a book by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, will debut Monday, Feb. 4, at 10 p.m. ET. The series stars Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina and Jamie Bamber.

Lastly, on Feb. 27, TNT’s new unscripted series “Boston’s Finest” will launch its debut. From executive producer Donnie Wahlberg, “Boston’s Finest” (working title) follows the Boston Police Department, encompassing multiple units including the exclusive and highly decorated Gang Unit.

TNT’s ‘Dallas’ Renewed

TNT has renewed its hit series “Dallas”

The  #1 new series has been picked up for a second season of 15 episodes, which is slated to air 2013.

“Dallas” follows the Ewing family has they “take ambition and deception to a new level.” The drama is a sort of continuation of Cbs’ soap opera, “Dallas.”

“Dallas has been a success for us on every level: pitch-perfect writing, smart directing and buzz-worthy performances by a new generation of stars and their iconic counterparts,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “With Dallas‘ top-flight ratings, robust growth through time-shifted viewing and the extensive online buzz, it’s clear the Ewings of Southfork have once again captured the imagination of viewers.”

“Dallas” currently airs Wed., at 9/8c on TNT.

Weekly TV News: ‘Body of Proof,’ CW, and More.

The dismissals continue at ABC network.

 

However, Shonda Rhimes has nothing to do with these dismissals. The actors fired starred in ABC’s “Body of Proof.” According to TVLine, John Carroll Lynch, who played police detective Bud Morris since the pilot of the show tweeted “I can confirm that BOP did not pick up my option.”

Meanwhile, original cast members Sonja Sohn, who played Detective Sam Baker, and Nicholas Bishop, who played investigator Peter Dunlop, will not return for a third season.

CW released the premiere dates of its summer shows earlier this week.

First, “Remodeled” starring modeling industry icon Paul Fisher, returns on Monday, July 9 at 10/9c p.m. and “The L.A. Complex” season 2 premieres on Tuesday, July 17 at 9/8c p.m.

“Oh Sit!,” is  hosted by Jamie Kennedy and Jessi Cruickshank, will challenge 12 thrill-seekers to go head-to-head in a musical chairs competition that features five physically demanding obstacle-course-style eliminations. The show debuts Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 8/7c p.m.

“The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep,” formerly titled “The Star Next Door” is set to debut Thurs., Aug. 16 at 9/8c p.m. The singing competition  will document a nationwide search for undiscovered artists on the verge of stardom. The celebrity mentors include Joe Jonas, Nelly, Gloria Estefan, and John Rich.

Lastly, “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition” will debut its 19th cycle on Friday, Aug. 24 at 8/7c p.m. Tyra Banks and Kelly Cutrone, will return for the upcoming season, but with new judges Rob Evans and Johnny Wujek who have replaced J.
