Emmy award-winning actor Eric Stonestreet has been cast to appear in “American Horror Story: Asylum.”

According to TVLine, the “Modern Family” star will play a killer on the upcoming season of “AHS.” The two time Emmy winning actor’s character will share a scene with Laura, Sarah Paulson’s character, but other details about his character are being kept under wraps.

“American Horror Story: Asylum” premieres Oct. 17 on FX.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who portrayed Clea, Jake’s social worker on “Touch” will not be returning to series’ forthcoming season. Apparently, Mbatha-Raw is leaving the series because she is no longer as integral to the plot as she was during the first season of the series. [Indiewire]
